What does the French art de vivre mean in interior design? There's a lot of talk about the "French lifestyle." But when I design an interior, what do I really mean by it?

Art de vivre is intentional simplicity

It isn't ostentatious luxury. It's the opposite: a deliberate choice of the essential. French interior design favours quality over quantity, the timeless over the trend, quiet refinement over display.When I work with my clients, I always come back to one question: Will you tire of this space in five years? If the answer is yes, it isn't the right direction.

Authenticity
I don't like fakes. No varnish imitating wood, no synthetic stone. Real materials, worn by time, carry a story.

Between order and freedom. Between minimalism and warmth. Between modern and timeless. A successful interior is never one or the other, but both.

Serenity

Seeing a room is one thing. Feeling it — the materials under your hands, the light on your skin, the subtle scents — that is the art de vivre. I create spaces that speak to the senses.
